The Nokia Theatre? Wow, that's pretty cool. Must be nice for AX and Otakon to have venues nearby to hold big events (Otakon is using the 1st Mariner Arena).

I'm going to try for AX next year or the year after - for anything just to see the awesome cosplay in person.

I'm not familiar with LA. How far is it from the Los Angeles Convention Center?

(Yeah, I'm too lazy to check for myself on Google Maps...)

Checking google maps, it is literally next door. It's right next to the Staples Center (which is where the Lakers play) And that's surrounded by the Convention Center.

Either way, it's huge.

I like the "free event ticket" for attendees who use one of the contracted hotels. We gave free memberships to attendees who had a hotel room at Anime USA 2001. We never would have made the room block without that deal, because most flights into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport were still grounded after the horrific events of 9/11. We could actually still see smoke coming from the Pentagon from the hotel on the days of the convention because were situated just a few miles away.
